The TESDA’s Java Program follows a competency-based curriculum designed to equip learners with practical, job-ready skills.

The curriculum covers:

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in Java
• Software design and user requirement analysis
• Database integration
• Debugging, testing, and documentation

The qualification is divided into three major competency areas, each targeting essential skills for IT professionals:

Graduates of the TESDA Programming (JAVA) NC III program receive a certificate of training upon completing the training and passing the required institutional assessments. Completing the program prepares them to pursue the Oracle Java SE Certified Associate Exam, enhancing their employability worldwide.

Individuals who pass the Oracle exam may apply to have their credential converted into a TESDA National Certificate (NC III). Through this pathway, Armada Logics helps learners build national and international credentials for broader tech career opportunities.

Region 1 Today, Nationwide Soon

Supporting the curriculum team in delivering the TESDA Java Program are certified TESDA Trainers, Sir Michael Ampo and Sir John Cuarentas. Their guidance ensured alignment with TESDA standards and maintained instructional consistency. They also provided trainees with the resources and support needed for effective learning.

With the combined efforts of a dedicated curriculum team and experienced TESDA trainers, the program delivers structured, real-world learning.

Instruction is led by certified professionals who actively work in the industry, including Rogie Urriza, a curriculum developer and software engineer who recently scored an impressive 96% on the Oracle exam. After falling short on his first attempt, Rogie approached his second try with renewed focus. He strengthened his core Java knowledge, committed to hands-on practice, and improved his exam readiness. 

Fueled by determination and support, he turned a setback into success, setting an example of resilience and preparation. That journey also offered valuable insights for Roby Anne Galo, as she prepared for her qualification toward the same certification.

Roby’s Journey to Certification

Roby’s path to certification came with its fair share of ups and downs. She admits that her study habits were inconsistent in the beginning. But in the final stretch before the exam, she found her rhythm and focused on three main strategies:

The biggest challenge? Time. 

Managing full-time work with exam preparation requires discipline, focus, and determination.  Reflecting on her experience, Roby shared that staying committed was easier thanks to the encouragement and support she received from the curriculum team and the entire Armada Logics Team.

From Examinee to Mentor

Now that she’s OCA certified, Roby is taking the next step: enrolling in TESDA’s Trainers Methodology Level I qualification. Her goal? Become a full-fledged Java trainer at Armada Logics — joining Rogie and the curriculum team in building the next generation of Filipino developers.

Together, they represent the blending of credentials and real-world experience, ensuring that trainees receive guidance that’s both relevant and reliable—preparing them to thrive in today’s tech-driven world.
